We are ezispeak - Damir Cato

At ezispeak, managing the logistics of an on-demand workforce is no simple task. That’s why we’re incredibly fortunate to have someone like Damir Cato on our team.

Damir truly understands the migrant experience – he came to Australia as a refugee from Bosnia, which was in a state of war at the time. It wasn’t an easy journey to make it to Australia, and once he arrived, he had to adjust to a new country, a new language and a whole new way of life.

It was those experiences that drove Damir to work in an industry that’s all about helping others get the level of communication and understanding that they deserve; it’s a goal that he feels deservedly passionate and proud about.

In fact, it wouldn’t surprise many to learn that Damir’s wife, also from Bosnia, works closely with indigenous groups and communities to help them get access to the services they need. Clearly the love of helping local communities runs deep in Damir’s family.

With extensive experience in the language services industry across operations, localisation, translation and workforce management, Damir has the knowledge needed to ensure that ezispeak’s clients are getting the language coverage they need – not such an easy task when you work with on-demand solutions like we do.

And on the flipside, Damir works closely with the rest of the Service Operations team to make sure that the thousands of ezispeak interpreters are given access to interpreting opportunities.

It can be a logistical challenge, and only someone with the attention to detail and language specific experience that Damir has can properly manage such a fast paced and critical role.

But if there’s one thing above all else that makes Damir an ideal fit for ezispeak, it’s his sense of advocacy, whether it’s for the ezispeak client, the interpreter or the non-English speaking end user. In every single case, he naturally knows what each participant needs, and the best way to ensure they get it.

That’s not an easy skill to develop.

All of this is clear evidence that ezispeak is stronger for having someone as knowledgeable, understanding and empathetic as Damir in our team. And it’s also clear evidence that ezispeak is unlike any other company – after all how many people specializing in operations need to be empathetic?

Damir really is one of a kind, and the entire ezispeak team is better for not just having him on our team, but also knowing him on a one-on-one basis.
